On the 17th of April at 3pm, a KBC Network Learning session was held with 15 school teachers and researchers of varying experience in their Knowledge Building (KB) practice. This session was held online due to the COVID-19 situation that arose in Singapore.
As teaching and learning shifts to home-based learning (HBL) for students across the country, the hosting of online classes have posed several problems for the teachers who were unable to obtain direct feedback or ensure that the students are actively participating in a classroom. The affordance of Knowledge Forum (KF) as an online and accessible technological platform for collaborative learning allowed teachers to view it as a viable option for carrying out effective lessons. The session discussed about how both teachers experienced KB practices in online settings and how teachers who are new to such an approach, have implemented the use of KB during HBL.
